PaleoScan™ 2025.0 - Available Now

Even More Innovation for Transforming Seismic Data into Geological Insight
Since 2012, PaleoScan™ has revolutionized seismic analysis with its time-saving RGT technology, delivering signal-conformant high-density stratal slicing to rapidly produce horizon stacks for enhanced subsurface understanding. Constant innovation has made it a global standard in exploration workflows.
PaleoScan™ now takes another leap forward, integrating even more cutting-edge technology into its ecosystem, giving you access to independently and co-developed AI-assisted tools and other new features all within the RGT environment.
New features and enhancements also contribute to an improved user experience, with the re-organization of toolbars and addition of new functionalities to refine the accuracy and geological consistency of your results. By expanding functionality within the software, we are reducing the need for frequent jumping between software packages, allowing for a more seamless and efficient interpretation process.

Facies Interpretation in PaleoScan™
Interactively Extract Complex Geobodies with AI GeoSeg
A brand-new, AI-powered facies recognition tool designed to segment and extract even the most complex geobodies from your seismic data. As a semi-automated tool, the containment process is driven by the user, giving you full control of the inclusion and exclusion selection process with the ability to preview the predicted objects throughout the volume.

Rapidly Screen Geological Features with GeoBlend
GeoBlend is a powerful new tool for blending geological intervals to reveal the stratigraphic distribution of specific amplitudes. By applying an RGB blend to three stratigraphically neighbouring stratal slices. GeoBlend highlights the juxtaposition and connectivity of geological features in your data, such as splays, channels, and lobes. Designed to illuminate thick stratigraphic packages, GeoBlend leverages seismic and attribute data to extract more geological information from your seismic and is a rapid and complementary tool to spectral decomposition.

Structural Interpretation in PaleoScan™
Enhance Volume-Wide Structural Analysis with AI FaultAssist 2.0
Unveiled in 2024, PaleoScan™ AI FaultAssist—developed in collaboration with Chevron Technical Center—brings a new level of speed and precision to fault detection and extraction. This latest upgrade, AI FaultAssist 2.0, delivers fault likelihood predictions at every voxel, giving users more control through resampling, cropping, and preview options. It also features improved cleanup of edge effects and false predictions near dead traces, ensuring a cleaner, more reliable output.

Data Management
Streamlining Data Management with Native VDS
In this release, we continue to enhance data management in PaleoScan™, introducing native VDS format writing, compression, and native VDS streaming—eliminating the need for a third-party application. Alongside these new features, major performance improvements enable users to seamlessly execute many PaleoScan™ workflows using volumes in VDS format. This eliminates volume duplication, saves disk space, and ensures compatibility with the OSDU environment.
2D Seismic
PaleoScan™ continues to improve its handling of 2D seismic data with the introduction of a new conditioning tool, enabling users to correct any misties—vertical shift, phase rotation and amplitude balancing—between a reference line and all the other lines of a 2D Line Set. This upgrade streamlines 2D Model Grid creation and is especially useful when dealing with multiple lines from different vintages, a common challenge in 2D seismic interpretation.
Horizons
A new quality metadata generation tool enables users to efficiently assess and ensure the quality of horizons. The tool provides information related to the uncertainty of the horizon picks based on amplitude and frequency, displayed in the updated Metadata Info Tab.
