Eliis and Petrobras Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Advance Collaborative Research in Energy Sector
Eliis signs an MoU with Petrobras to advance collaborative research, combining seismic interpretation expertise and geoscience knowledge with the aim of driving significant advancements in quantitative seismic interpretation using PaleoScan™.
November 26, 2024 – Montpellier, France – Eliis, a leading innovator in seismic interpretation technology, is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Petrobras, the Brazilian multinational energy corporation. This strategic MoU aims to explore collaborative opportunities in research and development, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to drive innovation in Brazil's energy sector.
The MoU establishes a preliminary framework for Eliis and Petrobras to collaborate on joint research initiatives in key strategic areas for Brazilian E&P development, including Reservoir Monitoring, Quantitative Seismic Interpretation technology, and the application of advanced AI methodologies to enhance subsurface understanding.
Commenting on the agreement, Roberta Alves Mendes, General Manager at Petrobras said “The Research, Development and Innovation domain in Geophysics covers technological developments in several areas of knowledge: mathematics, physics, geology, new IA algorithms and advanced scientific computing. For these diverse areas, we have internal developments and innovations at CENPES, complemented by advancements achieved through technological partnerships. These collaborations enable us to accelerate progress while reducing time and costs in implementing new technologies. We want to build on this through the MoU between Petrobras and the Eliis.”
Building on a long-standing relationship, this MoU strengthens the bond between Eliis and Petrobras in advancing geoscience and seismic interpretation.
