SEG Workshop: Advances in Seismic Interpretation and Subsurface Characterization

October 8 - October 10

This workshop will discuss the full spectrum of cutting-edge methodologies and technologies applied to determining sub-surface structure and properties from seismic data, and the future trends in these technologies, including the integration with non-seismic data to improve interpretation. Emphasis will be placed on challenging geological settings such as thin beds, salt tectonics, structurally complex basins, and multi-source or confined depositional systems. The growing role of AI, ML, and automation algorithms is a key recent trend, and the workshop will discuss and debate the current state of art for seismic interpretation where geology, geophysics and data science are intertwined. Workflows and case studies demonstrating the value of applying new technologies (either in terms of improved sub-surface understanding, or reduced turnaround time) are particularly encouraged.

As well chairing sessions throughout the program, our Advisor – Principal Geoscientist Nicolas Daynac, will be presenting a keynote and taking part in a panel discussion.
