Eliis and PETRONAS, through Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM), have partnered to deploy PaleoScan™ technology and advance joint geoscience R&D in Malaysia, supporting AI-assisted subsurface interpretation and new exploration opportunities.

Eliis, a leading provider of advanced seismic interpretation technology, and PETRONAS through Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM) have signed a Joint Industry Project Agreement (JIPA) to collaborate on the deployment of PaleoScan™ technology and joint geoscience research and development initiatives in Malaysia.
Under the agreement, Eliis will deploy its PaleoScan™ platform and AI-assisted subsurface interpretation workflows within the MPM technical ecosystem, supported by dedicated technical assistance. The collaboration will also encompass joint R&D initiatives across selected geoscience domains, with the shared goal of enhancing subsurface understanding and identifying new exploration opportunities in Malaysian waters.
The agreement was signed on 31 March 2026 by Azmir Zamri, Head of Resource Exploration at MPM, alongside Eliis management representatives Benoit Matha and Jusmila Baharom, in the presence of PETRONAS MPM leadership, Datuk (Dr) Ir. Bacho Pilong, Senior Vice President of MPM, and was witnessed by H.E. Marc Abensour, Ambassador of France to Malaysia.

The partnership is expected to improve seismic interpretation efficiency and geological understanding, advance digital and AI-driven geoscience capabilities, and support Malaysia’s upstream exploration ambitions. It also marks a further strengthening of France–Malaysia collaboration in energy technology and geoscience innovation.
